
1. Potential members will submit an Application Form for consideration and approval by the Management Team. Each Application form must be accompanied by a cheque in respect of the joining fee and a fully completed Standing Order (Direct Debit) to cover the monthly subscription
2. Each new member will pay a joining fee of £150. This fee will, however, be reduced to £100 until 1st January 2009, from which time, the full fee will be payable. In addition, each member will pay a monthly subscription of £30 to cover the cost of breakfast and administration.
3. Each member will commit to a minimum membership period, of 12 months and agrees to pay monthly subscriptions during this period.
4. Members commit to attending BusinessWorks meetings on a weekly basis. If they are unable to attend in person, they should arrange for a nominated Representative to attend on their behalf.
5. BusinessWorks will allow only one member from each trade, profession or classification. Where a conflict occurs with a potential new member, the existing member, belonging to the classification in question, shall have the power of veto.
6. Guests will be allowed two visits to BusinessWorks meetings without charge. Any additional visits will be allowed (upto a maximum of two) subject to a charge of £5 for each meeting attended.
7. Meetings will be held on a weekly basis starting at 07.00 and ending at 08.30. Members should arrive by 06.45 and remain throughout the duration of the meeting
8. The Management Team will consider members absences, on an individual basis and treat each case, both sympathetically and on its’ own merits. Absence is defined as non-attendance by the member or their nominated Representative.
Should any member be absent from 3 meetings, during any 3 month period, their membership classification, may be made available for replacement. If there is a potential new member immediately waiting to join, under that classification, the existing member may have their membership terminated. If no potential member is waiting to join under that classification, the existing member will be given the option of paying a renewal fee of £50, together with 3 months subscription in advance.
Members requiring extended leave of absence eg. Illness, Family etc., should submit a written request for consideration by the Management Team.
9. The Management Team will comprise a Chair, Treasurer and Attendance Secretary. No remuneration or allowance will be given for holding any of these offices. Each Officer will run for a minimum term of 6 months and maximum term of 12 months. Each member of BusinessWorks commits to taking their turn as member of the Management Team whenever a vacancy arises and this is practical.
10. All members will be expected to behave and operate in an honest and ethical manner. Any reported breach of these standards by a member, will be fully investigated by the Management Team. Depending on both the nature and severity of such breach, this may lead to the immediate termination of their membership, without compensation.
